These Terms of Service govern your use of the FAST NU mobile application (“FAST NU”), operated by XOST. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
FAST NU is an independent, student‑made application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST‑NUCES) or any of its campuses. References to “FAST”, campus names, course names, and faculty are used only to describe the academic material the app helps students find. All university names and marks belong to their respective owners.
The app is intended for students of FAST‑NUCES. You must be at least 13 years old to use it; if you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the app you confirm you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.
FAST NU is an academic archive and toolkit: browsing community‑contributed past papers, notes, and study material; faculty information; academic calculators (GPA/SGPA and planners); an AI study assistant (“Genie”); and lightweight community features. The service is provided free of charge and may change, pause, or be discontinued at any time.
FAST NU lets you contribute material to a community archive that is publicly hosted (on public GitHub repositories). When you upload material:
You agree not to: upload or post content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing; impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation; disrupt, overload, reverse‑engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its backends; scrape or bulk‑download data except through features the app provides; or use the app to violate any law or third‑party right. We use automated and human moderation and may suspend or terminate access for violations.
We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. FAST NU does not claim ownership of community‑contributed academic material, and such material may be the copyrighted work of its authors or institutions.
If you are a rights‑holder and believe material in the app infringes your copyright, email wuhs.official@gmail.com with: (a) identification of the work, (b) its location in the app/archive, (c) your contact details, and (d) a statement that you are the rights‑holder or authorised to act. We will review and remove infringing material promptly upon a valid request.
FAST NU includes an AI assistant that generates responses automatically. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. It is provided for study convenience only and is not professional, academic, legal, medical, or financial advice. Always verify important information independently. Do not enter sensitive personal information into the AI assistant.
GPA/SGPA calculators, planners, predictors, attendance, and similar tools produce estimates for your personal planning only. They are not official university records and may not reflect your institution’s exact policies or your actual results.
The app relies on third‑party services (including Google Firebase, Google Gemini, and GitHub). Your use of those underlying services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third‑party services.
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non‑infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or that content is accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Because the app is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use it (which is zero).
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content, your use of the app, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third‑party right.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. 5, 7, 11, 12, 13) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan for any dispute.
